Introduction

As an organization committed to being a living, breathing example of what it means to be free, fair and open, we believe in creating an environment that is safe for everyone and free from intolerance and harassment.

We uphold the following standards in all workspaces, online and in person, and in one-on-one communications between team members. This policy covers our website, Subspace Labs events, and our Open Source communities, including but not limited to public GitHub repositories, Slack channels, social media, and public events.

Standards

To curate a positive, friendly and safe environment for our team, we expect the following of Subspace Labs Team Members and our Community:

  1. Lead with Empathy. In distributed teams, asynchronous communication can often lead to blind spots regarding the human on the other side of the screen. In all interaction, whether written or verbal, we lead with empathy and assume the best of intent.
  2. Demonstrate Acceptance. Our team chooses to use inclusive language, honor cultural differences, and respect differing viewpoints and opinions. We believe that diversity of thought and perspective are necessary aspects of creating a space that is representative and accepting of all individuals.
  3. Zero Tolerance Discrimination. Subspace Labs, and its greater Community, takes a zero-tolerance policy against discrimination of any kind including, but not limited to, race, sex, age, sexual-orientation, nationality, physical appearance, religion, or disability.
  4. Anti-Harassment. Our organization is a safe and harassment-free place for individuals to work and collaborate. Harassment includes, but is not limited to behavior that threatens any person or group, produces an unsafe environment, harmful or prejudicial verbal or written comments, use of sexually explicit language, threats of physical or non-physical harm, deliberate intimidation, stalking or following, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.
  5. Confidentiality. We respect each others’ right to privacy and never publish or share any personal information regarding team members without their explicit permission.

Enforcement

Any violations of this Code of Conduct may be reported to the Head of People. All reported incidences will be investigated and will result in action deemed appropriate for the situation.
